2. Does Patenter replace my patent attorney?

No. Patenter is a productivity tool that is intended to reduce friction in the process of capturing invention disclosure. only. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all outputs. Patenter is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We encourage consultation with qualified counsel before filing.


3. Is my confidential information used to train AI models?

No. Your disclosures, documents, and data are never used to train or retrain external AI models. AI services process your input to generate outputs but do not retain or learn from your data beyond your session. Any AI services that may be utilized by Patenter are subject to the same confidentiality provisions.


4. How is my data protected when AI is used?

All data is subject to the same confidentiality and security standards we apply across the Patenter platform. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is never shared with other customers.


5. Who owns the content created with AI?

You do. All invention disclosures, drafts, and outputs created using Patenter’s AI remain your property, subject to our Terms of Service. We make no ownership claims.


6. Is AI always accurate?

Patenter is designed as a productivity tool to provide better information earlier in your patenting process, informing related business decisions. It does not replace the final judgment of your patent attorney or outside counsel. Always review outputs carefully before relying on them.


7. Can I choose not to use AI?

Yes. While many Patenter features are AI-assisted, you remain in control of your submissions. You can edit, override, or ignore any AI-generated content.


8. Does using AI create an attorney–client relationship?

No. Using Patenter does not create an attorney–client relationship. Patenter is a software platform and service, not a law firm.
